Hello, and welcome...
to the first edition of the Transcendental Awareness News Journal,
HÜMÜH’s new publication dedicated to addressing issues, both local and
global, from the point of view of logic, rather than from reasons. The
inspiration for starting this journal came
from HÜMÜH founder, Wisdom
Master Maticintin. The Wisdom Master saw current world situations and
how they displayed humanity’s tendency to make illogical choices,
unconsciously perpetuating unwanted circumstances. The response was to
create a publication
that takes a look at these common issues but not
from a common point of view.
Columns in this journal are approached from a point of view that
displays the logic of certain choices and the natural results of those
choices. The purpose is to raise people’s awareness above the habitual,
so they can make new decisions that uplift, rather than maintain
circumstances that do not – hence the name, ‘Transcendental Awareness’ –
meaning to gain awareness that moves beyond current limiting viewpoints.
This is about logic, not reason or belief, and the bottom line of logic
is this: if it perpetuates suffering, it’s illogical; if it caters to
the individual at the expense of others, it’s illogical; if it uplifts
the whole, it’s logical. The journal has several feature
articles, addressing a broad range of topics, as well as recurring
columns focusing on aspects of various issues like health, workplace,
relationships, and spiritual practice. There is also a column called
“From the Acting Dean’s Desk,” to keep readers abreast of the current
activities of the Transcendental Awareness Institute (TAI), HÜMÜH’s
school dedicated to showing people how to bring greater awareness into
their lives. Greater awareness means to be aware that you are aware, a
multiple image of awarenesses.
There are also reviews on books or movies that uplift the reader or
illustrate a valuable lesson, personal stories from people’s experiences
of making more refined choices in their lives, the occasional healthy
recipe, and more. The journal will likely evolve into other areas as
time goes on.
This issue’s feature articles follow the theme of habitual mind-sets and
how they play out prominently in today’s society. “A Vicious Cycle”
focuses on the pervasiveness of destructive mind-sets in the world,
while “With Respect for All Life” addresses the illogical stance of a
recent National Geographic article on hunting, and “The News:
Fact or Fabrication” is a short editorial on the media.
If readers want to respond to any of the articles in the Journal,
we would appreciate your feedback. Also, if there are any issues people
feel are relevant to the Journal’s purpose, we welcome those
suggestions. At the bottom of this page, to the right, under the
masthead, are our email address and regular mailing addresses for all T.A. News Journal feedback. Thank you and enjoy.
